Meme-Rider Media Team


The Meme-Rider Media Team originally hails from Anchorage, Alaska, where they specialize in mind control and the cuisine of apex predators. This is their first World Telekinesis Competition, but not their first dance with telekinesis. Two members will be employing a 'pataphysical method, while the third will be employing an untested feature of chaos magick.


Jared Chandler has worked in information technology as a web developer and database engineer for the past 12 years. He has undergraduate degrees in History and Fine Arts from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. His interests include data-mining, financial markets, technology based conceptual arts, and the role of the internet in modern society.


Joelle Howald is an interactive artist who works in expanded media and participatory events. Her work engages issues of personal and social transformation and the natural world. She runs an office for the removal of bad spells, welcome to most cases, equipped with a pencil repair shop. All pencil repairs and upgrades are taken by appointment on Tuesdays.


Nathan Shafer is a global artist, writer and educator from Anchorage, Alaska.  Since 2000 he has been working with expanded media, constructing a wide range of socially interactive and technology based projects. He recently founded the Institute for Speculative Media, which develops new media curriculum, after-school programs, and provides access to mobile technology for kids in Alaska.
